1. Hi guys,

I've been eyeing a Givenchy bag on Linde Le Palais but I haven't ever made a big purchase (over $1k AUD) online so I'm hesitant as I'm aware they don't include customs duties and taxes in their prices. I'm worried about how much I'll be hit with when the bag arrives in Australia.

I've looked for calculators online but wasn't able to find any. Can anyone please advise me on how much I can expect to pay on a bag that roughly costs $1062 AUD? And what the process on getting extra charges was? Do you get invoiced by customs before the bag gets released? Or do you have to lodge a form?

    Thanks heaps!

  2. If they ship with DHL/Fedex/UPS, they mostly call you up to get the customs payment, before it gets released to you (normally before it lands in Australia, in my experience).

Best to factor 15%-20% on top which would include approx 5% duties and 10% GST, and the customs brokerage fee.

  3. Thank you for your response! If for whatever reason I had to return the bag, would I get what I paid in duties and taxes back? And would I have to pay more duties and taxes to return it back to the country of origin, in this case Italy?

  4. You won't get the customs/duties/gst back if you return the item for a refund

If you mark the item as per their return instructions (i.e.: Returned goods), they shouldn't have to pay duties for having the goods sent back for a refund
