This thread is for discussion of authenticity of VALENTINO.

Note: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

    Please follow these rules:

    • It is imperative that you help our authenticators by using this format:
      Listing Number:

    • Authenticators are not required to answer every request, and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.

    • Authenticators may also request additional pictures and/or information in order to assist with authentication. Please remember, it is always useful to have several close up pictures when submitting an item for authentication.

    • Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests must be posted in this thread.

Please post ALL of the following photos to insure ACCURATE authentication:

ON A HARD SURFACE, NOT A BED OR CARPETING –*We need to see the ENTIRE shoe, not a cropped portion.
    • PROFILE: this is a shot of the entire side of the shoe, and should be taken straight on, NOT from above or below
    • BACK
    • FRONT
    • LABEL/LOGO inside the shoe
    • SOLE 1: a clear close-up shot of the logo/size stamp, preferably no flash
(a macro lens is best for this shot – it's the flower icon on your camera)
    • SOLE 2: a shot of the entire sole
BOOTS: Please do your best to get a clear shot of the label inside the boot. This can be tricky, but it can be done.

AUTHENTICATORS: Please utilize the "QUOTE" feature when responding directly to another post. Please do not publicly post details about why you think an item is or is not authentic, sellers of fakes have been known to lurk here and we would not want to help them.

Comments: I bought the first pair of rockstud style Valentino shoes. To me, it's not from the current rockstuds range but more from something that looked similar from before. I'm honestly not sure if these are authentic at all. A quick look at her sold listings and you can see she has had a few pairs of other designer shoes. Please help to authenticate  These days, eBay doesn't take reports so seriously as some fake listings are still up whenever I report them.

  9. fake, seller even indicates this in listing.
  10. Thank you for your help! She had the cheek to claim it's authentic on the second pair of shoes. When she mentioned "style", I thought she meant that it's Valentino, just that the style is of the rockstuds. No wonder she cancelled the transaction then. I wish eBay would man up and get rid of these sellers. I've tried reporting and listings are still there. Thanks for your help again

  11. Well, I answered part of my question, and discovered a sold listing on another site that indicates they are vintage.
    Listing Number: 151767411468
    Seller: bellapoussin
    Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151767411468?redirect=mobile
Comments: the label on the bottom is shiny in one pic. Not sure if it's the lighting or if it isn't legit. Said it's a manufacturers default but I've never heard of these being sold as factory seconds before. Just want to be sure since seller doesn't accept returns. Thank you!
  13. Can you please ask for a clear shot of the sole without a flash that includes the logo and size stamps? Also, a clear profile shot on a flat surface. Thanks!
