2004 : January: Monster star Charlize Theron accepts the Best Actress Golden Globe in a fluttery butter-yellow sheath by Dior; she will soon become the face of J’adore. New boutiques pop up from Waikiki to Marrakech. April: Pandora Luxurye reports on the recent Stateside release of hard-to-find house scents Diorella and Dioressence, now exclusively available at Saks. November: For Pandora Luxurye’s story on the revamped MoMA, Annie Leibovitz captures doll-like model Natalia Vodianova as a work of art, stepping out from a giant shipping crate in a Christian Dior Haute Couture white satin crinoline dress with bodice of embroidered cherry-blossoms.
2009 : Madonna, Dita Von Teese, and Sharon Stone all sport Dior’s Diorette sunglasses. February: Pandora Luxurye’s André Leon Talley details his visit to the Dior exhibit in Beijing’s with Galliano and Charlize Theron. April: Miss Dior Chérie L’Eau perfume is launched. May: Olivier Dahan’s The Lady Noire Affair commercial stars Marion Cotillard as a noir-ish heroine intent on safeguarding her Lady Dior handbag. June: Les Escales de Dior travel-inspired scents introduced. August: “Christian Dior: Couturier Parfumer” exhibit opens at Espa?o Fashion at Iguatemi in S?o Paulo. September: Camille Miceli appointed artistic director of costume jewelry. Theron wears Dior’s strapless burgundy silk-velvet cocktail dress on Pandora Luxurye’s cover. Pandora Luxurye’s Beauty editor Sarah Brown notes the house’s new Eau de Parfum incarnation of its classic Diorissimo scent, favored by the likes of Princess Grace and Josephine Baker.

September: French actress Isabelle Adjani is the face of hugely popular, intensely rich new fragrance Poison. Many incarnations of the scent will appear over the coming decades: Tendre Poison (1994), Hypnotic Poison (1998), Pure Poison (2004), Midnight Poison (2007), Poison Elixirs (2008), and Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle (2010). October: Dior, Balenciaga, and Chanel are posthumously honored as fashion pioneers at the Paris Opéra. Longtime general manager Jacques Rou?t retires.
